The understanding of this system revolves around the name "Islam" which means "submission". Indeed Islam began with the
first human on earth. And he was presented with a choice: to follow his own desire, which led him away from God or to follow
the path of submission whether or not it conformed with his desire. This is the essence of each individual's life on earth.
Islam does not dwell for long on the questions of usual philosophical importance. It places the unity of God as its highest
and most important ideal. God's prophets are those to whom God conveys his divine message. The prophets themselves are only
human and Islam asserts that there have been prophets sent to every nation on earth, who called to submission. The last and
the final prophet was Muhammed (Peace be upon him).
Salvation is achieved through being aware of the fact that there is none worthy of worship except God and Muhammed is
his Prophet. Once you understand this, the rest of your life is a struggle to live by the rules defined by that God though
his book, the Quran.
